Szwedzki melodic-power-metalowy zespół Dynazty zaprezentował ostatnio w sieci singiel "Breathe With Me" , wraz z zapowiedzią nowego, szóstego już albumu studyjnego.

Dzięki uprzejmości wytwórni AFM Records , której nakładem album będzie wydany, pierwsze wrażenia z przesłuchania.

Firesign został nagrany w studio Panic Room w Skara, w Szwecji, w marcu tego roku. Przez Tomas "Plec" Johansson. Premiera 28 września 2018.

W swoim debiutanckim albumie "Bring The Thunder" pojawia się definicja: Bring The Thunder - "The act of bringing raw, explosive masculine energy to an activity or venue" (akt wniesienia surowej, wybuchowej męskiej energii w działaniu lub miejscu).
Niezależnie od tego że skład zespołu zmienił się troszkę od tego czasu , a styl gry ewoluował , ten opis to wciąż strzał w dziesiątkę. Doskonale oddaje unikalną energię, pasję, charyzmę i cokolwiek jeszcze to jest , czym zespół się charakteryzuje. Zarówno w nagraniach studyjnych jak i na żywo.
Pobieranie i otwieranie do przesłuchania plików z utworami było jak podejście do bomby. Za każdym razem można było oczekiwać wybuchu. Eksplozji dźwięku. Nie zawiedli.

W FIRESIGN otrzymujemy 11 utworów. Spójnych melodyjnie. Utrzymanych w tym samym klimacie. Zbliżonym do ostatnich dwóch płyt (RENATUS i TITANIC MASS).  Jednak jakby silniejszych , jeśli jest to jeszcze możliwe - Dynazty tym razem przeszło samo siebie. Nie dostajemy piosenki stricte typu ballada. Wszystko z mocą i ogniem.

Przykuwająca uwagę jest piosenka "Ascension". Najdłuższa, bo aż ponad 6 minutowa. Po intro, w linii gitarowej przychodzi mi na myśl "Over The Hills And Far Away" Gary Moore'a. Choć nie jestem miłośniczką wyszukiwania podobieństw i stylu innych muzyków w recenzjach. To jak stwierdzenia typu 'oczy po matce' czy ' nos podobny do wójka Józka' kiedy jesteśmy sobą , tak jak tutaj zespół tworzy coś własnego. Dalej przej mocne gitarowe riffy , śpiew przechodzący z zawsze mocnego i czystego aż po tony wysokie niemal na granicy wrzasku. Co jest klasyczne dla wokalu Nilsa Molina. Utwór jak i w nazwie , ma jakąś wzniosłość. Niemal jak kościelne - religijne pieśni.

W tytułowej Firesign gitary i perkusja przeplata się z bardziej syntetyczną melodią , co tworzy bardzo ciekawy efekt. Słowa w refrenie , rzucane z mocą, pasją niemal jak misterium zaklęć w łacinie z jakiś filmów fantasy z dzieciństwa. Jakby miały wypalić w umyśle słuchacza te znaki ognia. Bądźcie ostrożni jeśli zdecydują się wykonywać ten utwór w przyszłości na koncertach.

Wyjątkowości w brzmieniu szukać trzeba na pewno w mistrzowskiej grze gitar i basu. Niezwykle szybkiej i płynnej. Jak i również w nietypowym sposobie gry na perkusji i bębnach. Jest tu kwestia dodania gongu ... Jako dla laika brzmi to dość skomplikowanie , ale dla bardziej wtajemniczonych polecam poczytać o Gong Bass Theory , w niedawno wydanej przez ich perkusistę, George'a , książce o takim tytule. O liderze zespołu nie trzeba wiele mówić. Określany jednym z najbardziej utalentowanych i najbardziej obiecujących wokalistów tego pokolenia. Widząc go na scenie ponad 100 razy, zarówno z Dynazty jak i Amaranthe, usłyszałam nie raz od innych muzyków , że jest jednym z najbardziej uzdolnentowanych i naprawdę wiele zespołów chciałoby go mieć w swoim składzie.

Przechodząc przez kolejne " Let Me Dream Forever", "Starfall" , wyczuwamy tę ogromną charyzmę. To jak flirt z mikrofonem przez spokojniejszy start , kiedy dalej energia narasta poprzez pełną skalę głosu. Nils - taką charyzmą charakteryzują się niektórzy ludzie - przywódcy : polityczni, religijni, kulturalni. W historii robili wielkie rzeczy. A w muzyce da się zauważyć rodzaj kultu. Więc urzyj tego dobrze. (A tego jestem pewna) . Dynazty zajdzie bardzo wysoko. Pamiętajcie moje słowa.

"My Darkest Hour" ma bardziej marszowe tempo. Wyśpiewywane jakby w rytm uderzeń wskazówek sekundnika. Niepospolite i grzmiące jak echo chórki w refrenie jak w większości ich utworów.

"The Grey" , do którego powstaje music video, utrzymany w tym samym tonie. Nic nie jest białe czy czarne. ''Black and white turns to grey colour". Fantazje w szarości nabiera nowego znaczenia. Bo ta szarość wybucha fuzją kolorów, dźwięków.

Nie chcąc odkrywać więcej kart, ale zrobić was jeszcze bardziej ciekawych tych nowych utworów, zostawiam was jeszcze z  audio do pierwszego singla:

Swedish melodic-power-metal band Dynazty have recently digitally released   their new single "Breathe With Me". Together with the single release Dynazty announced their upcoming, sixth studio album, "Firesign". "Firesign" was recorded at the Panic Room Studios in Skara, Sweden in March this year and by Tomas "Plec" Johansson was the one responsible for mastering and producing. FIRESIGN is out on September 28th, 2018.

 

This review could have been as short and compact as the "awesome" word is. But that doesn't really let me show all the impressions I had after  listening to the album  for the first, third and tenth time.

 

In their debut album, "Bring The Thunder", Dynazty came up with the definition of "Bring The Thunder" – it is "The act of bringing raw, explosive masculine energy to an activity or venue". It does not really matter that the band has changed a little since then, and their music has evolved, this description is still more than appropriate. It perfectly reflects the unique energy, passion, charisma and whatever else -  what the band is known for, both during the studio sessions and during live performances. Downloading and opening those audio files was like approaching the bomb. Each time you could expect an explosion. Sound explosion. And they didn't disappoint me this time.

 

"Firesign" consists of 11 songs. Consistently melodic. Maintained in the same climate. Close to the last two albums ("Renatus" & "Titanic Mass"), but the sound is even stronger, , if it is only possible - Dynazty has passed themself this time. You won't find any typical ballad on the album, every single song is powerful and full of  fire.

 

Please read my thoughts about some of the songs:

 

"My Darkest Hour" is more in marching tempo. Sung in the rhythm of the seconds hand in the clock. Outstanding chorus like in most of their tracks.

 

The song "Ascension" attracts attention. It is the longest one, lasts for  over 6 minutes. Although I'm not a fan of searching for the similarities and styles of other musicians (such as 'eyes after mother', 'nose similar to uncle Sam' etc.) -  we are ourselves, as here the band creates something of their own, here, in the guitar line after the intro "Over The Hills And Far Away" by Garry Moore comes to my mind. Then the strong guitar riffs come in, and the singing - this always strong and clear voice, going to the high tones, almost on the verge of screaming. Which is classic for Nils Molin's vocals. The song as well as the name has some sublimity. Almost like church - religious songs.

 

In the title son, "Firesign", guitars and drums are interwoven with a more synthetic melody, which creates a very interesting effect. Words in the chorus, sang with power and  passion - almost like a mystery of cast a spells in Latin , like in fantasy or childhood movies. As if they were to burn these signs of fire in the listener's mind. Be careful if they ever decide to perform this song during the concerts.

You can find the uniqueness of the sound in a masterful game of guitars and bass, which is extremely fast and smooth, together with the unusual way of playing drums. There is the question of adding a gong bass to the drums. It might sound a bit complicated, so I would recommend reading George's recently-published book about Gong Bass Theory (with the same title) for more details. I do not need to talk much about the band leader. He is described as one of the most talented and most promising singers of this generation. Seeing him on the stage over 100 times, both with Dynazty and Amaranthe, I have heard many times from other musicians that he is one of the most talented and many bands would like to have him

So, let's move forward. Going through the next songs: "Let Me Dream Forever", "Starfall", "My Darkest Hour" we  can feel Nils' huge charisma. He flirts with the microphone for a quieter start, and then the energy continues to grow through up to the full-scale voice. Nils' kind of charisma is characterized by some people - leaders: political, religious, cultural, who  did huge things in history. So, Nils, use it well! (OK, that's what I'm sure of). Dynazty will go very high. You will recall my words soon.

"The Gray", which comes soon as a music video, is kept in the same tone. Nothing is white or black. Black and white turns to grey colour. Fantasies in grey get new meaning. Because this grey is exploding with the fusion of colours and sounds.
